![]() John and love interest Luz make for a horrible couple, though. ![]() The key to saving the universe is John DiFool’s True Love, because it is Truer than any Love between two people that ever existed. The best thing you can say about it is that it is interesting how the story works like an alternate version of The Incal since it is set in a parallel universe. What is not so fun is that this story is rather trite and the writing, especially the dialogue, is laughably bad. Ladrönn gives us his own interpretation of the Shaft City, and it is a darker and grittier place. The fun thing about this is that the artist Ladrönn can now reimagine some of the same iconic panels of Moebius’s art, as the story continues in a way that resembles the start of The Incal. Now the John Difools of both previous books must become integrated. Also, that loop put us back in the timeline to the moment where the Incal started and where Before the Incal ended, so Final Incal is an immediate sequel to both the previous books. Either way, John now has knowledge of what might happen in the future and what needs to happen to fix it. Either that or it was a parallel universe or all a hallucination. ![]() ![]() ![]() John Difool met this giant god space baby who sent him back. If you remember, The Incal ends with a temporal loop. So, this book finally ties The Incal and Before the Incaltogether. Final Incal (2008-’14) art by José Ladrönn ![]()
